Now I remember why I only clothes shop when it's absolutely necessary. Because it isn't fun for me. At all. Maybe it would be if I didn't have to consider pesky things like cost and necessity to life, but that isn't my reality, so I don't really care for it. No matter how good a deal I get, at the end of the day, I still feel like I spent too much. Plus there is always the problem of finding something that I/the kids like that is also in the size we need. It would really help if all brands were sized the same - a size 8 should be the same regardless of what brand you are looking at or what store you are at. But apparently the clothing people found in their research that having to try on every item to make sure it fits is a component of the shopping experience that cannot be missed, so they don't do that.
So, eldest daughter was in dire need of some new pant/capris for church, and youngest daughter needed church shoes. Seems fairly simple, right? Eight stores, 5 hours, 3 Icees and $150 later, the person who got the most out of our shopping was...my son, who didn't even go with us. Kohl's was having a great clearance sale, so he got two pairs of Dockers and one pair of dress shorts, plus 3 nice short sleeve dress shirts, all of which he really needed, but we can never seem to find when he's actually with me - go figure.
Eldest daughter did get a pair of black pants and a shirt for church, as well as another pair of pants that I have to take back because logic would dictate that if one size that a person tries on is too small and one is too big, that the one in between the two would fit, so no need to try it on too...but guess what? They don't - too small, so I have to take them back - grrrr. Youngest daughter did get a pair of shoes, plus pants and a tank top. So all in all we accomplished what we set out to do, but it was a long, tiring afternoon. At least it should be a few months before we have to do it all over again.
Kohls will destroy you every time.
ReplyDeleteI love it so much! Every time I go in there "just to look" I end up buying something. I always need stuff but its just sucks you in!!!
