Random thoughts from my day as I wear any one of a number of hats: wife of an ever patient and hard-working husband, full-time homeschooling mom of 3 terrific kids, writing teacher, swimming/basketball mom, member/director of tone chimes choir at church, and sometimes reluctant pet owner.

Day 1
I have not exercised in an embarassingly long amount of time - years in fact. But we joined the Y this week since our son's swim team merged with their swim team and it was only a little more to get a family membership. So, there goes any last excuse I gave myself for not exercising regularly...okay, okay, exercising at all. I used to really enjoy the classes when we were members years ago, so I picked up a class schedule. The times aren't great for me, but I could probably work with at least some of them. However, at this time, I prefer to take it as God's way of letting me know that if I jump right back into a 45 minute step or circuit training class, I may very well die. So I decided to ease back into things this first week or two by just doing 30 minutes on the stairclimbing or elliptical machines. So today I started. It was hard. My legs feel like jello. I probably will be really sore tomorrow. I'm beginning to remember why I dislike exercise. But I'm not going through this pain for nothing, so that means I'll be going back again for more soon.
